Weekend Poll Top Three: Fans Want Jennifer Damiano to Hang Out with Lena Dunham and the Ladies of HBO's Girls

After taking home the Golden Globe for Best TV Comedy, HBO’s Girls isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Now that season two is in full swing, we’re dying to see another Broadway alum (in addition to folks like Andrew Rannells and Adam Driver) join the hit comedy. We asked Broadway.com readers to elect their favorite twentysomething Broadway gal to squeeze in on the couch next to the four stars of Girls. Take a look at the rsults below!

1. Jennifer Damiano — 31%
Tony nominee Damiano certainly knows how to act angsty after brooding roles in Next to Normal and Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark. She could bring some theatrical star power to the Girls couch, maybe as an aspiring Broadway actress or a karaoke bar waitress. Anything to get her singing! (Although not at the risk of renaming the show Girlsical.)


2. Christy Altomare — 26%
As Sophie in Mamma Mia!, the adorable Altomare must be tired of the sunshine and tropical bliss of the Greek Isles. Why wouldn’t she want to trade the sun and fun for the wintry gloom of Marnie and Hannah’s Brooklyn brownstone?!


3. Laura Osnes — 16%
Cinderella leading lady Osnes would fit in just fine with the rest of the show’s sexy cast, although all the girl-on-girl drama is definitely not becoming of a budding Broadway princess. If the whole royalty thing doesn’t work out, we’d love to see Osnes snuggle up in a Snuggie with Shoshanna!
