Clive, Starring Ethan Hawke & Zoe Kazan, Begins Performances Off-Broadway

Clive, a new play by Jonathan Marc Sherman about the decline of a lavish rocker, begins performances January 17 at off-Broadway’s Acorn Theatre in Theatre Row. Directed by Ethan Hawke, the New Group production stars Hawke in the title role, with Zoe Kazan, Brooks Ashmanskas and Vincent D’Onofrio. Clive officially opens on February 7.

Set in New York City in the ‘90s, Clive is the story of a dissipated songwriter, from his hedonistic heights of seduction and consumption into an ecstasy of self-destruction. Inspired by Bertolt Brecht’s 1923 play Baal, Clive features an eclectic selection of classic American songs performed live. In addition to Hawke, Ashmanskas, D’Onofrio and Kazan, Clive will feature Sherman, Stephanie Janssen, Mahira Kakkar, Aaron Krohn and Dana Lyn.
