Tim Minchin will play 54 Below on March 1 and 2.

Tim Minchin, the composer and lyricist of Broadway's upcoming Matilda, has added a second show to his previously announced appearance at hot spot 54 Below. The Australian comedian will now debut his solo show on March 1 at 11 PM. Minchin's performance will highlight his piano-playing skills, signature dance moves and unique brand of comedy.

Despite penning the family-friendly Matilda, Minchin is best known for his raunchy comedy work and broke through in 2005 by winning Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Minchin plays rock star Atticus Fetch on the Showtime series Californication. He recently toured in the U.K. arena production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar and is set to appear in the Sydney Theatre Company production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead later this year.
