Tracie Thoms to Star in ABC's Dark Soap Opera Gothica

"We're okay" with this! Rent alum Tracie Thoms is set to star as the editor of a newspaper in ABC's sexy, gothic soap pilot Gothica. Thoms will co-star opposite Janet Montgomery (TV's Made In Jersey) in the eerie new series, according to Deadline.

Set in the present day, the ABC show weaves together a mythology that incorporates the legends of Dracula, Jekyll and Hyde, Frankenstein and Dorian Gray, among others. Montgomery will play Grace Van Helsing, the prodigal daughter who returns to run the family newspaper, The Guardian. Thoms will star as Mina, Grace's friend and the The Guardian's managing editor.

Thoms has starred in the Broadway productions of Rent, Drowning Crow and Stick Fly. Her TV and film credits include Rent, The Devil Wears Prada, Death Proof, Descent, Cold Case, Harry's Law and Looper.
