Tony winner John Benjamin Hickey is set to star in the upcoming CW pilot Blink, according to Deadline.com. Hickey will take on the leading role of Greg, a father who suffers from a coma-like condition in which he can see and hear, but is unable to speak or move.
Blink is a dramedy that follows the lives of a family grappling with the aftermath of a car accident involving their patriarch, who narrates the show. Madeline Carroll stars as teen daughter Ari, and Michael Weston will play Greg’s brother Neal. Additional casting has yet to be announced.
John Benjamin Hickey received a Tony Award for his turn in the 2011 revival of The Normal Heart. His previous Broadway credits include Mary Stuart, Love! Valour! Compassion!, Cabaret and The Crucible. He currently stars on Showtime’s The Big C and recently appeared in the film Pitch Perfect.
