Everybody Rise! Documentary on Tony Winner Elaine Stritch to Premiere at Tribeca Film Festival

The new documentary Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me will have its world premiere at New York's Tribeca Film Festival. Directed by Chiemi Karasawa, the doc follows Broadway legend Elaine Stritch, giving fans an intimate take on her thoughts on aging, her struggle with alcohol and diabetes, and her fear of leaving the spotlight behind.

Shoot Me features interviews with plenty of famous show biz folk who've worked with Stritch including Tina Fey, Nathan Lane, Hal Prince, George C. Wolfe, Cherry Jones, John Turturro and more. The doc also includes rare archival footage from her corner room at the Café Carlyle, breaks from her tour and photographs from her personal collection. Shoot Me connects Stritch's present to her past, and reveals a bold portrait of a one-of-a-kind performer.

Stritch won a Tony for her Broadway stage memoir Elaine Stritch at Liberty. Her Broadway credits include A Little Night Music, Company, Love Letters, Sail Away and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? An Emmy winner for the TV broadcast of At Liberty, she has appeared in the films A Farewell to Arms, Providence, Cocoon: The Return, September, Out to Sea, Krippendorf's Tribe, An Unexpected Wife, Small Time Crooks, Autumn in New York and Monster-In-Law.
