The off-Broadway revival of The Mound Builders officially opens at the Pershing Square Signature Center on March 17. The drama, written by Lanford Wilson, stars Zachary Booth, David Conrad and Janie Brookshire as a team of archeologists. The production recently extended its limited engagement, and will now play through April 14.

In the show, a team of archeologists ventures to an Illinois town to unearth the mysteries of the Mound Builders. As they excavate the remains of the Native American civilization, they struggle with the dangerous and powerful forces of legacy and ambition. The original production of The Mound Builders opened in 1975 at off-Broadway’s Circle in the Square Downtown.

The play stars Booth as Dr. Dan Loggins, Brookshire as Cynthia Howe, Conrad as Professor August Howe, Lisa Joyce as Dr. Jean Loggins, Rachel Resheff as Kirsten, Will Rogers as Chad Jasker and Danielle Skraastad as D.K. Eriksen.

The Mound Builders features scenic design by Neil Patel, costume design by Theresa Squire, lighting design by Rui Rita, sound design by Darron L. West and projection design by Shawn Sagady. Jo Bonney directs.
