The full cast has been announced for Manhattan Theatre Club's 'Choir Boy.'

The complete cast is set for the upcoming world premiere of Tarell Alvin McCraney’s Choir Boy, a gospel-infused play that will run at New York City Center’s Stage II. The show, directed by Trip Cullman, begins previews on June 18 and opens on July 2 as part of The Studio at Stage II — Harold and Mimi Steinberg New Play Series.

The cast will include Austin Pendleton (Ivanov) as Mr. Pendleton, Jeremy Pope (Little Shop of Horrors), Nicholas L. Ashe (The Lion King) as Junior Davis, Kyle Beltran (In The Heights) as David Hearde, Chuck Cooper (Caroline, or Change) as Headmaster Marrow, Grantham Coleman (As You Like It) as Austin Justin James and Wallace Smith (American Idiot) as Bobby Marrow.

The show tells the story of the Charles R. Drew Prep School for Boys, which is dedicated to raising strong, ethical black men, and one student (Pope) who strives to become the leader of the school’s legendary gospel choir.

The creative team includes scenic and costume design by David Zinn, lighting by Peter Kaczorowski, sound by Fitz Patton and musical direction by Jason Michael Webb.
