Get to know the heartache behind the clown in Douglas Carter Beane’s latest Broadway show, The Nance. The Lincoln Center Theater production stars two-time Tony winner Nathan Lane as Chauncey Miles, a closeted gay “nance” performer living in New York City in the 1930s. The story follows Chauncey as he falls in love against the backdrop of a changing and dangerous New York. Directed by Tony winner Jack O’Brien, the Broadway production co-stars Tony winner Cady Huffman, Andrea Burns, Lewis J. Stadlen, Jenni Barber and newcomer Jonny Orsini as the young man Chauncey falls for. The Nance officially opens at the Lyceum Theatre on April 15, but we have your first look at Joan Marcus’ production photos of Lane and his co-stars.
