Alison Luff and John Davidson will take over as Elphaba and the Wizard, respectively, in the national tour of the hit musical Wicked beginning April 30. They are joining the show during the tour’s Dallas engagement, which plays the Music Hall at Fair Park from April 10 through May 5.
Luff's Broadway credits include Scandalous, Ghost and Mamma Mia! Davidson was most recently in the off-Broadway production of The Fantasticks as Henry (he played the young hero Matt in the 1964 TV film version). His Broadway credits include State Fair, Foxy and Oklahoma. The actor is perhaps best known for his Las Vegas shows and hosting That's Incredible!, Time Machine and Hollywood Squares in the 1980s as well as a reboot of The $100,000 Pyramid in the early 1990s.
Luff and Davidson join a cast that includes Jenn Gambatese as Glinda, Kim Zimmer as Madame Morrible and Curt Hansen as Fiyero. The cast also features Demaree Hill as Nessarose, Jesse JP Johnson as Boq and Timothy Britten Parker as Dr. Dillamond.
A vivid reimagining of the classic The Wizard of Oz, Wicked spotlights the untold stories of Oz’s most famous characters: the Wicked Witch of the West and her unlikely friend, Glinda the Good. The show follows the tale of green-skinned Elphaba through the life-changing events that eventually label her "wicked."
