Hairspray’s Susan Mosher Steps in for Christine Pedi in Off-Broadway’s NEWSical the Musical

Off-Broadway’s jaw-dropping musical NEWSical the Musical welcomes back Hairspray vet Susan Mosher beginning April 15. Mosher will step in for current Chicago star Christine Pedi, during Pedi’s ten-week absence from NEWSical. Also joining the cast at Theatre Row is Carly Sakolove as a swing.

NEWSical the Musical is the ever-evolving, completely un-sanitized musical mockery of all the news that’s fit to spoof. From Honey Boo Boo to Obama, the budget crisis to The Long Island Medium, marriage equality to Kim and Kanye’s baby, NEWSical sets all of today’s biggest pop culture headlines to song.

In addition to Mosher and Sakolove, NEWSical features Michael West, Tommy Walker, Christina Bianco and Ryan Knowles. Within the last year, the show welcomed guest headliners Perez Hilton, Tony nominee Andrea McArdle, Cheri Oteri and Emmy winner Carson Kressley.

Mosher played the role of Prudy Pingleton and others in the Broadway production of Hairspray. Her other credits include off-Broadway’s Suds and Back to Bacharach and David and TV’s Nurse Jackie, Without A Trace, If These Walls Could Talk 2 and The L Word. She is also the host of 54 Below’s weekly Backstage series.

Sakolove appeared off-Broadway and in the national tour of Girls Night: The Musical. Her other stage credits range from her one-woman show I Hear Voices to Twilight: The Musical to Little Shop of Horrors.
