Diana! Smokey! Stevie! The Stars Align as Motown: The Musical Opens on Broadway

Broadway will be singing along to some of the most memorable songs in music history when Motown: The Musical takes its much-anticipated opening night bow at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on April 14.

The show, starring Tony nominee Brandon Victor Dixon as label founder Berry Gordy and Valisia LeKae as the dazzling Diana Ross, follows Gordy’s rise from small-town dreamer to big-time record mogul. Coming along for the ride are a host of other Motown legends including Smokey Robinson (Charl Brown), Marvin Gaye (Bryan Terrell Clark), Stevie Wonder (Ryan Shaw) and Michael Jackson (Jibreel Mawry/Raymond Luke Jr.).

The show's ensemble includes Timothy J. Alex, Nicholas Christopher, Rebecca E. Covington, Ariana Debose, Andrea Dora, Preston W. Dugger III, Wilkie Ferguson, Dionne Figgins, Marva Hicks, Sasha Hutchings, Lauren Lim Jackson, Morgan James, John Jellison, Crystal Joy, Grasan Kingsberry, Marielys Molina, Sydney Morton, Jarran Muse, Maurice Murphy, Jesse Nager, Milton Craig Nealy, N’Kenge, Dominic Nolfi, Saycon Sengbloh, Jamal Story, Eric LaJuan Summers, Ephraim Sykes, Julius Thomas III, Daniel J. Watts and Donald Webber, Jr..
