Original cast member Jenny Bacon is set to return to the off-Broadway production of My Name Is Asher Lev on June 10, replacing Ilana Levine in the play’s female roles, including Asher’s mother. Bacon will re-join original stars Ari Brand in the title role and Mark Nelson as Asher’s father and other male roles.

Adapted by Aaron Posner from the best-selling novel by Chaim Potok, My Name is Asher Lev opened at the Westside Theatre on November 8, 2012, and recently won the Outer Critics Circle Award for best off-Broadway play. The story centers on a Hasidic Jewish boy who wants to be an artist. As Asher matures, he struggles to be accepted by his family and the members of his religious community.

Directed by Gordon Edelstein, My Name Is Asher Lev is currently scheduled to run through September 1.
