Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach rocked the '60s with his music and message of love and acceptance. On August 15, that message reached Broadway as the new bio musical Soul Doctor opened at the Circle in the Square Theatre. Written and directed by Daniel Wise, Soul Doctor stars Eric Anderson (South Pacific, Kinky Boots) as the rock star rabbi and dazzling newcomer Amber Iman as Carlebach’s friend and inspiration Nina Simone. After the curtain came down, the cast and creators, as well as Carlebach’s daughter (singer Neshama Carlebach), headed to the Liberty Theatre for their opening night soiree. Broadway.com photographer Bruce Glikas was also on hand to celebrate and capture the exciting opening night. Click below to enjoy the party photos, and don’t miss Soul Doctor, now playing on Broadway.
