Talk about a winning hand! Casting is complete for the Broadway-aimed musical adaptation of Honeymoon in Vegas at New Jersey’s Paper Mill Playhouse, starring previously announced headliners Tony Danza, Rob McClure and Brynn O’Malley. The show will also star Tony nominee Nancy Opel, Matthew Saldivar, David Josefsberg and more. Honeymoon in Vegas features music and lyrics by Tony winner Jason Robert Brown and a book by Andrew Bergman, the screenwriter and director of the 1992 film. Directed by Gary Griffin, the new musical will premiere September 26 and run through October 17.

The cast will feature Danza as Tommy Korman, McClure as Jack Singer, O’Malley as Betsy Nolan, Opel as Bea Singer, Saldivar as Johnny Sandwich and Josefsberg as Tony Rocky/Roy Bacon. The cast will also include Catherine Ricafort as Mahi and ensemble members Matt Allen, Stanley Bahorek, Tracee Beazer, Grady McLeod Bowman, Barry Busby, Daniel J. Honeymoon in Vegas tells the story of Jack Singer (McClure), a commitment-phobe who finally gets up the courage to propose to his girlfriend Betsy (O’Malley). The couple heads to Vegas to get married, but when high-roller Tommy Korman (Danza) falls in love with Betsy (who bears a striking resemblance to his late wife), he arranges for Jack to lose in a poker game so he can claim the bride-to-be as his own.

Opel garnered a Tony nomination for Urinetown. Her additional Broadway credits include Memphis, Fiddler on the Roof, Ring Round the Moon, Triumph of Love, Getting Away With Murder, Evita, Annie, Sunday in the Park with George, Teddy & Alice and Anything Goes. Saldivar’s has appeared on Broadway in A Streetcar Named Desire, Peter and the Starcatcher, Grease and The Wedding Singer. Josefsberg’s Broadway credits include The Wedding Singer, Grease and Les Miserables.
