'National Theatre: 50 Years On Stage' will include a star-studded lineup.

London’s brightest theater luminaries are coming together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the National Theatre of Great Britain. Directed by the National’s Nicholas Hytner, National Theatre: 50 Years On Stage will be broadcast live in movie theaters around the world on November 2.

The special one-night-only event features a starry roster of actors who have performed at the National over the past five decades recreating some of their most memorable scenes. Tony and Olivier Award winner Maggie Smith will reprise her role of Mrs. Sullen in The Beaux’ Stratagem, Judi Dench will recreate her Cleopatra from Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra, Simon Russell Beale will perform Hamlet and Michael Gambon and Derek Jacobi will take on Harold Pinter’s No Man’s Land.

The evening will also include appearances and performances by Tony Award winner and Academy Award nominee Ralph Fiennes, Tony and Olivier Award winner Frances de la Tour, Olivier Award winner Alex Jennings, Olivier Award winner Rory Kinnear, Olivier Award winner Adrian Lester, BAFTA award winner Anna Maxwell Martin, Olivier Award winner Andrew Scott, Olivier Award nominee Penelope Wilton and more. The audience at this invitation-only event will consist of actors, directors, writers and designers who have worked at the National.

National Theatre: 50 Years On Stage will be broadcast as part of the ongoing National Theatre Live series.
