Billy Porter & the Cast of Kinky Boots Set to Perform at Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Grab the white meat and a little cranberry sauce and let the cast of Kinky Boots “Raise You Up” on Thanksgiving morning. The Tony-winning musical has been added to the lineup of performers in the 2013 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 28. Tony winner Billy Porter will lead the cast in performing the grand finale “Raise You Up” / “Just Be” from the hit Cyndi Lauper and Harvey Fierstein-penned musical. The 87th annual parade will be broadcast live at 9AM on NBC.

The Kinky Boots crew join previously announced players from Pippin, Matilda and Motown the Musical for the televised event. The parade also features performances from Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth, Smash alum Megan Hilty, Broadway vet Ariana Grande, as well as the forthcoming telecast of The Sound of Music, starring Carrie Underwood. Cirque du Soleil and The Rockettes are also on deck to perform.

In addition to Porter as Lola, Kinky Boots stars Stark Sands as Charlie Price and Annaleigh Ashford as Lauren. The parade will be hosted by Matt Lauer, Al Roker and Savannah Guthhrie.
