The New York premiere of Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’ Appropriate will extend its run by a week. The off-Broadway production will now play through April 13 in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center.
In Appropriate, the estranged members of the Lafayette clan return to their crumbling plantation home in Arkansas to settle the accounts of their recently deceased patriarch. The sudden discovery of a gruesome relic and a surprise visitor send the family into a spiral of confrontations, repressed histories and regret.
Appropriate is directed by Liesl Tommy. The cast includes Tony Award nominee Johanna Day, Maddie Corman, Patch Darragh, Alex Dreier, Mike Faist, Izzy Hanson-Johnston, Sonya Harum and Michael Laurence.
