The show will now close April 19.

The Mother/Daughter, end-of-life love story My Mother Has 4 Noses, written and performed by Jonatha Brooke, is to end its off-Broadway run early and close April 19. Directed by Jeremy B. Cohen, the show had been set to run through May 4 at off-Broadway’s The Duke on 42nd Street.

In the new musical play, Brooke tells of her experiences caring for her mother during the final two years of her life.  Quite the character, her mother was a published poet, a clown, and a Christian Scientist. She also had dementia...as well as four noses.  Brooke began chronicling her experiences, “the daily theater of loving and caring for someone with dementia,” and her writings at first became a popular blog, then grew into a collection of 11 new songs (now an acclaimed album).

Brooke composed the theme song for Joss Whedon's series Dollhouse, has written for four Disney films and recently co-wrote songs with Katy Perry and The Courtyard Hounds. She has three other musicals in development: Quadroon, Hopper and Death and Venice. Her albums include Plumb, Ten Cent Wings and The Works.
