What we would give to have an Oscar winner take us under her wing! According to TVLine, screen legend Shirley MacLaine is set to appear in a multiple-episode arc on Glee. MacLaine will play a New York socialite who is determined to make Blaine (played by Darren Criss) a superstar.
MacLaine received an Oscar for her performance in Terms of Endearment, as well as nominations for The Turning Point, Irma la Douce, The Apartment and Some Came Running. She currently appears on Downton Abbey as Martha Levinson. MacLaine's Broadway credits include Me and Juliet, The Pajama Game and multiple solo shows.
Criss, who made his Broadway debut in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, plays Blaine, an openly gay alum of the McKinley High’s glee club and romantic interest of Kurt (portrayed by Chris Colfer). In a recent episode of the Fox series, Criss teamed up with Lea Michele and company to perform Stephen Sondheim’s “Broadway Baby” and “No One is Alone.”
