The 54 Below Show, originally scheduled to kick off on October 17, is delayed. Inaugural host Marc Shaiman "is ill and unable to perform," according to a statement. A new date for the live variety show will be announced at a later date.
The new program from the Broadway supper club will feature a series of special guests, tunes and sketches in the style of live variety shows that played before the days of The Tonight Show, Saturday Night Live and The Ed Sullivan Show.
Tony-winning composer/lyricist Shaiman's Broadway credits include Hairspray, Catch Me If You Can and Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me.
