Watch Sting Talk His Decision to Star in His Musical The Last Ship & Why He's 'Like the Phantom of the Opera'

Sting stopped by The Today Show on November 24 to talk his recent decision to join the cast of his Broadway musical The Last Ship. The production is certainly a passion project for the Grammy winner, who sees every performance. “I’m like the Phantom of the Opera,” he told host Matt Lauer, “I just sneak in there in the dark.” Sting will be stepping in for his “best friend” Jimmy Nail as Jackie White on December 9 and will be playing the role through January 10, 2015. How does Nail feel about it? Apparently he’s been "amazing" and has given Sting his blessing, although has informed him that “I’ll be there giving you notes.” Check out the interview below and The Last Ship, currently playing at the Neil Simon Theatre.
