What goes really well with turkey? Showtunes and dramatic monologues. The Great White Way celebrated its highest grossing and best-attended Thanksgiving week in recorded history. 36 Broadway shows brought in a total of $34,121,642. While Wicked claimed the top spot (the tuner played a special nine-performance week), fellow perennial hits The Lion King and Aladdin broke box office records at their respective homes. Other shows that saw exceptional boosts over the holiday weekend include Cinderella, which broke the $1 million mark for the first time since April, as well as A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, which both had T-day to thank for their highest-grossing week yet.
