Too Beautiful For Words! See Heather Headley's First The Color Purple Curtain Call

Heather Headley's Main Stem return has got theater fans making a joyful noise! We felt her roar as the original Nala in The Lion King, and audiences fell in love with her performance in Aida, which landed her a Tony Award in 2000. Fifteen years later, Headley is back in town as the seductive Shug Avery, and though her son can't believe audiences want to hear her sing, she received standing ovations both during and after her first performance in The Color Purple on May 10.
