An American in Paris will dance its fidgety feet off the Great White Way on October 9, but it’s still got rhythm (and some box office clout). The Gershwin musical grossed $959,422 this past week, marking an over $100,000 boost since the previous week and its best since May. Cats also landed on its feet this past week, re-entering seven figures at $1,011,242. The Tony-winning The Humans is quickly seeing the effects of moving to a bigger house; the show announced its recoupment after earning its highest gross to date with $670,967. Lewis Black played his first performance of Black to the Future on September 12; in one performance, his comedy special grossed $151,181—over 90% of its potential.
