Letscher, who is probably best known for playing an arrogant anchor on the NBC series Good Morning, Miami, appeared on Broadway in Proposals. His other theatrical credits include The Tropical Pickle and Rain Dance for Jeff Daniels' Purple Rose Theatre Company, Absolution at Los Angeles' Court Theatre and Loves Labour's Lost at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre. His film credits include Not This Part of the World, The Mask of Zorro, Madison, Super Sucker, Gods and Generals, Identity and Straight-Jacket. In addition to Good Morning, Miami, Letscher was a series regular on Almost Perfect and Living in Captivity. He will play Captain Jack Absolute in The Rivals.
Murray, set for the role of Sir Lucius O'Trigger, recently played Dogberry in Much Ado About Nothing at the Delacorte Theatre in Central Park. Murray's Broadway credits include Uncle Vanya, Twelfth Night, Noises Off for which he received a Drama Desk Award, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead Tony nomination, Black Comedy, The Little Foxes Tony nomination and The Crucible. His off-Broadway credits include Long Day's Journey Into Night, Entertaining Mr. Sloane, Misalliance, Molly Sweeney, Travels With My Aunt, Ashes, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Hamlet, The Butterfly Collection, The Play About the Baby and Beckett/Albee.
Naughton, who will play Lucy in The Rivals, previously appeared on Broadway in Three Sisters and Dance of Death. Her other Gotham stage credits include All My Sons, The American Clock, Tesla's Letters, Uncle Jack, Hotel Universe, Evolution and Roses in December. Naughton is also known as Mrs. Peterson, singer and songwriter, of the rock band The Petersons.
Preston appeared with Letscher in the film, Straight-Jacket, and was a series regular on TV's Emeril. She has previously appeared on Broadway in Indiscretions and The Tempest. Her off-Broadway credits include Chaucer in Rome, the stage version of Straight-Jacket, Antony and Cleopatra, Freedomland and Boys and Girls. She will play Julia in The Rivals.
Shamos is currently appearing on Broadway in Reckless. His off-Broadway credits include Cymbeline, Corpus Christi, Hamlet, The Alchemist, Race, The Complete Works of Shakespeare Abridged, Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme and Engaged. He starred in the 1984 movie Kid Colter and has a role in the upcoming film The Great New Wonderful. Shamos is set to play Bob Acres in The Rivals.
True-Frost is best known for playing Detective Roland 'Prez' Pryzbylewski in the HBO series The Wire. Credited as Jim True, he appeared on Broadway in The Grapes of Wrath, Philadelphia, Here I Come! and Buried Child. He has been a member of the Steppenwolf Theater Ensemble since 1989 and has appeared in a dozen productions for the company. His big screen credits include Singles, The Hudsucker Proxy, Two Over East, Normal Life, Far Harbor, Affliction and Off the Map. He is set for the role of Faulkland in The Rivals.
The LCT production of The Rivals is scheduled to have its official Broadway berth on December 16.
