About the Show

The Pajama Game has not officially opened yet, but the Roundabout Theatre Company is already extending the revival's limited engagement. The musical, starring Harry Connick Jr., will now run at the American Airlines Theatre an extra week through June 18.

Richard Bissell's novel 7 1/2 Cents inspired The Pajama Game, which features music and lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross and a book by George Abbott and Bissell. In the musical comedy, a battle ensues when workers at the Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory demand a seven-and-a-half cent raise from their reluctant employers. Matters are complicated when the head of the Union Grievance Committee, Babe Williams Kelli O'Hara, falls in love with one of the company's leaders, Sid Connick Jr..

This mounting of The Pajama Game, directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall, began previews at the American Airlines Theatre on January 19 and is scheduled to officially open on February 23. In addition to Connick Jr. and O'Hara, the cast includes Michael McKean, Peter Benson, Joyce Chittick, Megan Lawrence, Michael McCormick, Richard Poe and Roz Ryan.
