Bert V. Royal's Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead will end its off-Broadway run on February 26. At the time it closes, the comedy will have played 12 previews and 86 performances at the Century Center for the Performing Arts.

Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead is an unauthorized parody of the Charlie Brown comic characters. Set approximately 10 years after the events in the 50-year-running comic strip, Dog Sees God begins with Snoopy's death, after which things for the introspective "CB" go downhill. Still trying to understand life's darker meanings, still plagued with his endless identity crisis, CB talks to his gang of friends to find answers to his many questions.

The show, a hit 2004 Fringe Festival, opened off-Broadway on December 15 with a list of stars that included Eddie Kaye Thomas, Eliza Dushku, America Ferrara, Kelli Garner, Ari Graynor, Logan Marshall-Green, Keith Nobbs and Ian Somerhalder. In recent weeks three of the show's best known performers Dushku, Ferrara and Somerhalder departed the production. Replacements for these cast members were never named.

Dog Sees God, directed by Trip Cullman, received mostly negative reviews when it opened at the Century Center. In his Broadway.com Review of the production, William Stevenson wrote: "While the Peanuts-related riffs spark laughs for the first half hour or so, the play's humor then begins to flag. What would make a terrific Saturday Night Live sketch wears out its welcome over 90 minutes, especially when the play becomes earnest with a gay-romance plotline… The 'hot and hip young' actors to quote the gushing press release make the good jokes fly but can't save the play once it loses its way."
