Complete B'way Mary Poppins Casting Announced, Including Jenkins and Luker




Complete casting has been announced for the Broadway production of Mary Poppins. In addition to Ashley Brown and Gavin Lee, the musical will feature Daniel Jenkins as Mr. Banks, Rebecca Luker as Mrs. Banks, Jane Carr as Mrs. Brill, Mark Price as Robertson Ay, Cass Morgan as Bird Woman, Ruth Gottschall as Miss Andrew and Michael McCarty as Admiral Boom, according to a production spokesperson.

Jenkins received a Tony nomination for his work in the original production of Big River he also appeared in the acclaimed Broadway revival. Luker is a well-known theater veteran with two Tony nominations for Show Boat and The Music Man to her credit. Carr previously appeared on Broadway in The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby and A Small Family Business. Price last appeared on the Great White Way in All Shook Up. Morgan was recently featured in the short-lived Johnny Cash musical Ring of Fire. Gottschall's Broadway credits include The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Legs Diamond, The Goodbye Girl, The Music Man and Jackie Mason's Laughing Room Only. Notable Broadway credits for McCarty include The Beadle in the 1989 revival of Sweeney Todd, Abner Dillon in the 2001 42nd Street revival and Andrew Carnes in the 2002 Oklahoma! revival.

In addition to those named above, Mary Poppins will feature Katherine Doherty and Delaney Moro alternating in the role of Jane Banks and Henry Hodges and Alexander Scheitinger alternating in the role of Michael Banks. The ensemble will include Eric B. Anthony, Ann Arvia, Pam Bradley, Kristin Carbone, Brian Collier, Nick Corley, Case Dillard, Nicolas Dromard, James Hindman, Suzanne Hylenski, Stephanie Kurtzuba, Matt Loehr, Michelle Lookadoo, Tony Mansker, Tyler Maynard, Sean McCourt, Vasthy E. Mompoint, Jesse Nager, Kathleen Nanni, Megan Osterhaus, Janelle Anne Robinson, Rommy Sandhu, Phillip Spaeth, Shekitra Starke, Catherine Walker and Kevin Yee.

Mary Poppins is scheduled to begin performances at Broadway's New Amsterdam Theatre on October 14 and open on November 16.
