Michael Kadin Craig will join the off-Broadway company of Altar Boyz on March 31 as Matthew, replacing Chad Doreck. The musical, directed by Stafford Arima and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, has just celebrated its third anniversary at New World Stages.

Altar Boyz tells the story of five small-town boys—Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan and Abraham—who form a band and try to save the world one screaming fan at a time. In addition to Doreck, the current cast includes Ryan J. Ratliff as Mark, Jesse JP Johnson as Luke, Jay Garcia as Juan and Ryan Strand as Abraham.

Craig, who has played Matthew in Altar Boyz at St. Louis Rep and Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, was featured on the second season of American Idol, singing Marvin Gaye's "What's Goin On." Other credits include the North Shore Music Theatre production of High School Musical and The Sixties Project at Goodspeed.
