Tony Award-nominated actor Keith Carradine returns to the New York stage in the New York premiere of Anthony Horowitz's Mindgame. The show also marks the New York stage directorial debut of Ken Russell, the director of the films Tommy, Woman in Love and The Boyfriend. Mindgame begins performances at SoHo Playhouse on October 28 and opens November 9.
The story centers on a writer of pulp crime novels that scores the assignment of his career: an interview with a notorious serial killer. But when he arrives at the asylum, he finds nothing can be trusted, not even his own eyes, and why is there a skeleton in the doctor's office? Where did the raw meat in the fridge come from? What is the nurse so afraid of? And how does one get out?
Carradine is best known to Broadway audiences for his Tony Award-nominated performance as the title character in The Will Rogers Follies. He won the Outer Critics Circle Award for appearing in Firefox, opposite Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy, and most recently appeared as Lawrence in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. His appearance in Robert Altman's Nashville earned him an Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Original Song for "I'm Easy," a top-10 Billboard hit. Other film credits include The Long Riders, McCabe & Mrs. Miller, The Duellists, Thieves Like Us, Choose Me, Trouble in Mind, The Moderns, Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle, The Tie That Binds, Emperor of the North and Pretty Baby. Television credits include Deadwood, Dexter, Numb3rs and the miniseries, Chiefs.
