Cast Set for Off-Broadway Musical The Marvelous Wonderettes

Casting has been announced for the forthcoming off-Broadway production of The Marvelous Wonderettes, which begins performances at the Westside Theatre on August 29. Written and directed by Roger Bean, The Marvelous Wonderettes will open on September 14.

The Wonderettes will be played by Farah Alvin Broadway productions of Nine, The Look of Love, Saturday Night Fever and Grease, Beth Malone Ring of Fire on Broadway, regional productions of Sister Act The Musical, Ring of Fire and You're A Good Man Charlie Brown, Bets Malone original cast in Milwaukee Rep production of The Marvelous Wonderettes, Reprise LA productions of Babes in Arms, 1776, No Strings and Victoria Matlock national tours of Wicked, Evita and The Full Monty.

The Marvelous Wonderettes features the iconic sounds of the fifties and beyond in a journey back to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where the Wonderettes—Betty Jean Beth Malone, Cindy Lou Matlock, Missy Alvin and Suzy Bets Malone—are four young girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts. Featuring such classic hits as "Lollipop," "Dream Lover," "Stupid Cupid," "Lipstick on Your Collar," "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me," "It's My Party" and "It's In His Kiss The Shoop Shoop Song," The Marvelous Wonderettes is an effervescent musical blast from the past.

This production includes set design by Michael Carnahan, costume and wig design by Bobby Pearce, lighting design by Jeremy Pivnick, sound design by Cricket S. Myers, musical direction by Brian William Baker and choreography by Janet Miller. The Marvelous Wonderettesis being produced by David Elzer, Peter Schneider and Marvelous Dreams, NYC.
