Ethan Coen returns to the Atlantic Theater Company with a collection of one-act comedies.

Before Opening, Ethan Coen's Offices Extends at Atlantic

Two weeks before opening night, Atlantic Theater Company has extended its world premiere production of Ethan Coen’s Offices. Currently in previews at the Linda Gross Theater, the show and will open on May 7, directed by Neil Pepe. The limited engagement will continue through June 7 rather than the previously announced closing date of May 31.

The ensemble cast features Academy Award winner F. Murray Abraham Coen’s Almost an Evening, Daniel Abeles Behold, the Bowery!, Brennan Brown Atlantic’s Celebration, Aya Cash From Up Here, John Bedford Lloyd Some Americans Abroad, Daniel London Patch Adams, Mary McCann Spring Awakening, Almost an Evening, Joey Slotnick Almost an Evening, Greg Stuhr November, C.J. Wilson The Voysey Inheritance and Daniel Yelsky upcoming film Meet Monica Velour.

Offices consists of three short plays with this cryptic description: Hiring and firing are antisocial acts. Workplace pressures make for nasty competition. And the work itself can be meaningless and alienating. Accordingly, the three short plays that make up Offices are comedies.

Atlantic produced Coen’s previous trio of short plays, Almost an Evening, last season. With his brother Joel, Ethan Coen’s film credits include the Academy Award-winning films No Country for Old Men and Fargo; O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Raising Arizona, Barton Fink, The Hudsucker Proxy, The Big Lebowski and Burn After Reading.

Offices features sets by Riccardo Hernandez, costumes by Laura Bauer, lighting by David Weiner and sound by Obadiah Eaves.
