Berresse, d'Amboise, Hoff & Pulver to Join T.R. Knight in L.A. Parade

Broadway vets Michael Berresse, Charlotte d’Amboise and Christian Hoff and Olivier Award nominee Lara Pulver will join T.R. Knight in the forthcoming Los Angeles revival of Parade, according to Variety. Rob Ashford, who directed and choreographed the show at London’s Donmar Warehouse in 2007, will helm the production, which will run from September 24 to November 15 at the Mark Taper Forum.

Based on the true story of Leo Frank (Knight), convicted for the murder of 13-year-old Mary Phagan in Atlanta in 1913, Parade recounts the press frenzy and public outrage about Frank’s trial and the crusade for justice waged by his wife, Lucille (Pulver, reprising the role she played in London). Amid religious intolerance, political injustice and racial tension, the musical explores the endurance of love and hope against all the odds. TheVariety report did not specify which roles Berresse, d’Amboise and Hoff will play.

Parade features a Tony-winning score by Jason Robert Brown and Tony-winning book by Alfred Uhry. The original Broadway production opened on December 17, 1998, and ran for 85 performances at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre, directed by Harold Prince. In spite of its abbreviated run, the musical received nine 1999 Tony nominations, including Best Musical, Best Director and Best Actor and Actress for Brent Carver and Carolee Carmello as Leo and Lucille Frank.

A Tony nominee for Kiss Me Kate, Berresse most recently appeared on Broadway in A Chorus Line and The Light in the Piazza and directed [title of show]. His other Broadway credits include Fascinating Rhythm, Chicago andDamn Yankees.

A Tony nominee for A Chorus Line and Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, d’Amboise has appeared on Broadway in Chicago, Sweet Charity, Contact, Company and Carrie.

A Tony winner for Jersey Boys, Hoff has appeared on Broadway in The Who’s Tommy and in L.A. area productions of Dames at Sea, The Rocky Horror Show and Rockne the Musical. He departed the recent Broadway revival of Pal Joey during previews after a reported injury.

Pulver received an Olivier Award nomination for Parade and appeared on the London stage in Into The Woods (Royal Opera House), the U.K. premiere of The Last 5 Years(Menier Chocolate Factory), Honk! (National Theatre) and High Society (Regent’s Park Open Air).
