Felicia Farrell, a promising R&B singer in 1950s Memphis who falls for a white boy determined to make her a recording star.
In addition to a bundle of regional theater credits, Glover's only other Broadway appearance was as an understudy for the roles of Celie and Nettie in the musical The Color Purple.
