Barbra Streisand Reveals Passion, Works on Memoir
Barbra Streisand
Famously private diva Barbra Streisand will open her home to her fans—on the page, that is. The singer-director-actress has inked a deal with Viking to release an illustrated book centering on her Malibu oceanfront home, reports the Associated Press. A Passion for Design due in fall 2010 will feature photos alongside text written by Streisand herself.

The Oscar, Grammy, Emmy-winning Streisand who also received a Special Tony Award citation in 1970 told the AP that the house took a lot out of her. “It was a project. Instead of directing a movie, I built a house. And it’s so much more complex than doing a movie.” Her last big-screen appearance was opposite Dustin Hoffman and Ben Stiller in 2004’s Meet the Fockers, playing a saucy senior-citizens’ sex therapist in a Barbra-circa-1976 hairdo. She’s rumored to reprise the role in the 2011 sequel Little Fockers.

Streisand has also been working in a memoir, but says she hasn’t decided whether she’ll publish it or even finish it.
