Beth Fowler, the original Mrs. Potts in Broadway’s Beauty and the Beast, is returning to the Disney musical. Fowler, who begins performances on September 12, will replace current star Barbara Marineau.

Fowler was most recently seen on the Broadway in Bells Are Ringing. Her other Broadway credits include Sweeney Todd which earned her a Tony nomination, A Little Night Music, Baby, Teddy and Alice and Peter Pan. She won an L.A. Ovation Award for her portrayal as Mrs. Potts in the Los Angeles production of Beauty and the Beast.

Beauty and the Beast continues to play at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. On Tuesday, August 28 the musical will celebrate its 3000th performance.
