Broadway Grosses: Halloween Takes a Bite Out of the Box Office

While 'God of Carnage' topped the list for capacity, Broadway said farewell to 'Brighton Beach Memoirs.'

Blame Halloween or the World Series, but with only a handful of exceptions, Broadway box office totals dropped across the board, in some cases more than $100,000 less than the previous week. The fall season had its first casualty, as the revival of Neil Simon’s Brighton Beach Memoirs closed after just a week of performances at the Nederlander Theatre. As the original cast moves toward its final performances, God of Carnage again topped the frontrunners list for capacity.
