Dossett and Pawk to Star in Broadway's Mamma Mia! in October

Husband-and-wife Broadway faves John Dossett and Michele Pawk are set to star opposite each other in Mamma Mia!. They will begin performances in the show on October 19. That same day Carey Anderson, Andy Kelso and Olga Merediz will also join the cast.

Dossett, who will play Sam Carmichael is Mamma Mia!, is currently appearing on Broadway in The Constant Wife. He received a Tony nomination for his featured work as Herbie in the most recent Broadway revival of Gypsy. His other Broadway credits include King of Schnorrers, Fifth of July, Prelude to a Kiss, Ragtime, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, An Almost Holy Picture and Democracy.

Pawk, who will lead the cast of Mamma Mia! as Donna Sheridan, recently completed a run off-Broadway in The Paris Letter. Pawk won a Tony Award for her featured turn in Hollywood Arms. She has also appeared on the Great White Way in Chicago, Seussical, Cabaret, Triumph of Love, Crazy for You and Mail. Her other notable credits include off-Broadway productions of Reefer Madness, After the Fair, Hello Again, Merrily We Roll Along and Bounce at the Goodman Theatre and the Kennedy Center.

Anderson, who is to play Sophie in the musical, has previously played the role on the national tour. Kelso's regional credits include Footloose, The Drawer Boy, Big River and Rock Odyssey. He will play Sophie's fiancé, Sky. Merediz is on board to play one of Donna's best friends, Rosie. She previously appeared on Broadway in The Human Comedy, Les Miserables, Man of La Mancha and Reckless.

Mamma Mia! currently stars Carolee Carmello as Donna, Peter Kelly Gaudreault as Sam Daniel McDonald is on leave from the show but is expected back in the role of Sam before Dossett takes over, Sara Kramer as Sophie, Judy McLane as Tonya, Robin Baxter as Rosie, Aaron Stanton as Sky, David Beach as Harry Bright and Mark L. Montgomery as Bill Austin. McLane, Beach and Montgomery will continue with their roles when the new leads take over. The others are expected to play their final performance on October 17.
