I Love You, You're Perfect... Breaks a Record

About the Show

I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change will become off-Broadway’s longest-running musical revue ever on January 7, 2001. With 1,843 performances, the show will surpass the long-standing record of Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris.

Joe DiPietro and Jimmy Roberts’ I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change is a musical comedy about everything you have ever secretly thought about dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives and in-laws but were afraid to admit. Joel Bishoff directed the production.

The revue opened on August 1, 1996 to mixed reviews. Vincent Canby of The New York Times wrote in his review that the show was “exhausting.” Nevertheless, the production has grossed over $16 million and spawned I Love Yous in over 70 cities worldwide.
