Additional casting for the upcoming Broadway production of Shrek the Musical has been announced. Jennifer Cody Urinetown, The Pajama Game and Jennifer Simard The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee are among the new cast members joining Brian d'Arcy James as Shrek, Sutton Foster as Princess Fiona, Christopher Sieber as Lord Farquaad, Chester Gregory II as Donkey, John Tartaglia as Pinocchio and Kecia Lewis-Evans as The Dragon. After a pre-Broadway run at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre in August, Shrek will begin previews at the Broadway Theatre on November 8, with opening night set for December 14, directed by Jason Moore.

An all-new new musical based on the story and characters from William Steig's book Shrek!, as well as the blockbuster DreamWorks film, the new production features a book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire Rabbit Hole and music by Jeanine Tesori Thoroughly Modern Millie & Caroline, or Change.

The creative team also includes set and costume designer Tim Hatley Monty Python's Spamalot, Private Lives, lighting designer Hugh Vanstone Monty Python's Spamalot, Bombay Dreams and sound designer Peter Hylenski Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me, Cry-Baby. The choreography is by newcomer Josh Prince, with music direction by Tim Weil Rent.
