Josh Lucas played his final performance in The Glass Menagerie on Sunday, June 5. He left the production suddenly to begin filming director Wolfgang Petersen's remake of The Poseidon Adventure. Understudy Joey Collins is currently playing the role of The Gentleman Caller while negotiations are ongoing with a yet-to-be-named actor to permanently replace Lucas, a production spokesperson told Broadway.com.

Lucas received a Teen Choice Award with Reese Witherspoon for the kiss they shared in the successful 2002 romantic comedy Sweet Home Alabama. His other film credits include Alive, The Definite Maybe, Restless, You Can Count on Me, American Psycho, The Weight of Water, The Deep End, Session 9, A Beautiful Mind, Hulk, Secondhand Lions, Wonderland and Undertow. He has three films scheduled to come out this year: An Unfinished Life, Stealth and Glory Road. Until Menagerie, Lucas' best known stage work was in the 1998 Manhattan Theatre Club production of Corpus Christi, in which he played Judas.

The Glass Menagerie also stars Jessica Lange, Christian Slater and Sarah Paulson. It is scheduled to end its limited engagement at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on July 17.
