Kevin Kern will return to the role of Fiyero in Wicked on March 10 at the Gershwin Theatre. He replaces departing star Aaron Tveit, who exited the cast on March 8 in preparation for the Broadway transfer of Next to Normal, which begins previews on March 27 at the Booth Theatre.

Kern previously played Fiyero on Broadway in late 2008. His other Broadway credits include The Wedding Singer and Les Miserables. Off-Broadway credits include being an understudy in Next to Normal and Altar Boyz. The actor also recently appeared in the pre-Broadway tryout of new musical 9 to 5.

In addition to Kern, Wicked features Nicole Parker as Elphaba, Alli Mauzey as Glinda, Jayne Houdyshell as Madam Morrible, Byrnn O’Malley as Nessarose, Alex Brightman as Boq, Timothy Britten Parker as Dr. Dillamond and P.J. Benjamin as The Wizard.

Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, the show features music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman. The production was directed by Joe Mantello with musical staging by Wayne Cilento. The musical currently has productions in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, London, Tokyo, Stuttgart, Melbourne and on a North American tour.
