Lion King Looking for Cubs

Disney Theatricals is hosting an open audition for children ages 9 to 12. The company is looking for talented youngsters to play African lion cubs Simba and Nala in Broadway’s The Lion King. Auditions will be held at Chelsea Studios on Saturday, March 10 beginning at 9:30am.

The Lion King is the story of a young lion cub named Simba who struggles to accept the responsibilities of adulthood and his destined role as king. To bring the 1994 film to life, Disney turned to the story's roots, its rich mythology, powerful human drama and primal African rhythms. The musical won six 1998 Tony Awards.

Disney requires kids be able to sing, dance and act. Children arriving at the audition with photo and résumé in hand should be prepared to learn the final verse of “I Just Can't Wait To Be King." They should also be prepared to dance.
