Merle Dandridge will join the cast of Monty Python's Spamalot as the Lady of the Lake on September 2, replacing Marin Mazzie. Dandridge will be paired with Stephen Collins as King Arthur in the Broadway company at the Shubert Theatre.

Dandridge most recently played Joanne in Rent. Her Broadway credits include Kala in Tarzan, the title role in Aida and Jesus Christ Superstar Tours include Aida, Smokey Joe's Café and Ain't Misbehavin'. Regional credits include Most Wanted, Atlanta, The Kentucky Cycle, Balm in Gilead and As You Like It.

Spamalot features a book and lyrics by Eric Idle, music by John Du Prez and Eric Idle, direction by Mike Nichols, choreography by Casey Nicholaw and is based on the screenplay of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The Broadway cast includes Drew Lachey, Tom Deckman, Rick Holmes, Bradley Dean, Robert Petkoff and Wally Dunn.
