Our Word of Mouth Panel Goes Back to Before with Ragtime

It hasn't even been a decade since the original production of Ragtime closed on Broadway, and yet the popular history-based musical is already back, in a new staging that opened November 15 at the Neil Simon Theatre. And why not? With unforgettable characters like Coalhouse Walker, a black Jazz pianist who fights for justice, Jewish immigrant Tateh and Mother, the Victorian woman who grows a spine, the musical has always been a favorite of audiences, just as the original E.L. Doctorow novel and the Milos Foreman movie were before it. Word of Mouth panelists Maggie, Sam and Deanna caught the show during press performances to deliver their own verdict on Ragtime .
