Tour star Sara Kramer will be the next Sophie Sheridan in the Broadway production of Mamma Mia!. Broadway.com has learned she will begin performances on October 20, replacing Jenny Fellner, who is leaving the production to star in the Goodspeed Musicals presentation of Princesses running November 4 through November 28 at the Norma Terris Theatre in Connecticut.

Kramer rose from an ensemble position in the tour to play Sophie, the daughter whose actions serve as a catalyst for the Mamma Mia! plot. Regionally, Kramer has appeared in Phantom and Les Miserables high school edition. During a recent tour stop in Pittsburgh, Pohla Smith of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette wrote: “Kramer's Sophie is suitably dreamy and wistful.”

Mamma Mia! will welcome many new cast members in October. Ken Mandelbaum reported on August 4 that Carolee Carmello, Liz McCartney and Judy McLane have all been mentioned for the cast.

A production spokesperson could not confirm the casting of Kramer.
