Singing Legend Smokey Robinson to Star as Chicago's Next Billy Flynn

Robinson is a legend in the recording industry. He has amassed 36 Top 40 hits, is in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters' Hall of Fame, received a Grammy “Living Legend” Award and more. Robinson began his career fronting The Miracles, as well as composing tunes for other Motown acts most notably his work with The Temptations' classic “My Girl”. With The Miracles, his songwriting credits include rock standards like “Shop Around,” “Going to A Go-Go,” “You've Really Got a Hold on Me,” “I Second That Emotion” and “More Love.” Other tunes he composed for Motown artists include “Get Ready,” “The Way You Do The Things You Do,” “You Beat Me To The Punch,” “My Guy,” “Don't Mess With Bill,” “I'll Be Doggone,” “Just To See Her” and “One Heartbeat.” He has some acting credits, including a role on the soap opera Generations as well as some experience as a guest star on various television programs.

Chicago currently includes Michele DeJean as Roxie Hart, Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, John O'Hurley as Billy Flynn and Lillias White as Matron Mama Morton. Robin Givens, who is performing for three weeks with the touring company, will return to Broadway as Roxie Hart on March 6.
