Before originating the role of Mufasa on The Lion King's first national tour and in the Las Vegas production, Alton Fitzgerald White was featured in the ensembles of Miss Saigon and The Who's Tommy. White also served as a replacement Coalhouse Walker in the original production of Ragtime and took over the role of Mister in The Color Purple before playing Mufasa on Broadway.
