Claim to fame

Born in South Africa, Amra-Faye Wright is a longtime veteran of Chicago, having first played the role of Velma Kelly in the U.K. and South Africa before moving to the Broadway production in 2006. Wright has gone back and forth between Chicago and her solo career, performing opposite more than 20 Roxie Harts (including famous faces like Samantha Harris, Christie Brinkley and Kara DioGuardi.) In 2010 Wright traveled to Tokyo where she performed Chicago entirely in Japanese.
